SimLEARN - Excellence in Veterans' HealthcareThe Simulation Learning, Education and Research Network (SimLEARN) is the VHA's program for simulation in healthcare training. Serving the largest integrated health care system in the world, VHA's SimLEARN provides an ever-growing body of curricula and best practices that improve healthcare for our nation's Veterans. The use of innovative technologies in a safe learning environment enhances diagnostic, procedural and communication skills to support quality care and the best possible outcomes.


End of life simulation: An interprofessional approach to postmortem care for Veterans

SAN DIEGO -- The VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) instituted a new graduate nurse residency program in 2010, and simulation learning has been incorporated throughout the residency program. Advancement of simulation learning is a result of collaboration between the San Diego State University (SDSU) School of Nursing (SON) and the VASDHS as part of the VA Nursing Academy (VANA).





Simulation training key to meeting the health needs of women Veterans

WASHINGTON, DC – Women's Health is meeting its goal of training thousands of VHA providers in women's health care topics partly by using state-of-the-art simulation equipment. Women's Health, in partnership with SimLEARN, purchased MammaCare® Clinical Breast Exam Simulators for each of the 21 Veteran Integrated Service Networks (VISNs).
