Summary

On May 19, 2016, Arnold Leto was indicted in U.S. District Court, Los Angeles, CA, for serving and attempting to serve as an airman and operating an aircraft in air transportation without an airman's certificate. The indictment follows the April 27, 2016, arrest of Leto by DOT-OIG Special Agents.

According to the indictment, Leto piloted aircraft with passengers without authorization. Federal Aviation Administration records revealed that he operated aircraft in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, San Francisco, CA; Las Vegas, NV; Tucson, AZ; Chicago, IL, and Indianapolis, IN. On January 12, 2016, FAA issued an Emergency Order to revoke Leto's pilot license because he was operating an aircraft he was not certified to fly. As recently as April 8, 2016, Leto was observed at the Van Nuys, CA, airport piloting an aircraft with passengers. Air traffic control data confirm that his plane operated several flights since his license revocation.
