Summary

On April 6, 2000, at a hearing before the Subcommittee on Aviation, Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, U.S. Senate, we provided testimony on aviation security. Our testimony addressed the reliance of aviation security on each employee in the aviation system doing his or her part, and what needs to be done to ensure that these employees are well-trained, trustworthy and held accountable for compliance with security requirements. We also addressed the need for FAA to have an integrated strategic plan to guide its efforts and prioritize funding needs. A copy of our statement is attached for your information.
