Tab Updated 10/2011
This version of the State EMS Forms was posted on this site on 08/12/2010, and revised by the state on 05/14/2010.
Florida began submitting to NEMSIS in 2008. Currently 46% of Florida's EMS agencies are submitting to their state database. Florida is submitting 100% of the NEMSIS National Dataset.
EMSTARS, Emergency Medical Services Tracking and Reporting System, is Florida's online prehospital information source. The Florida EMS Tracking and Reporting System (EMSTARS) project is undertaken to provide incident level patient care reporting for submittal to the Florida Bureau of EMS and the National EMS Information System (NEMSIS) databases.
The DOH completed a data dictionary based on NEMSIS requirements in January, 2007, and constructed a database for pre-hospital information compliant with the NEMSIS standard. A group of EMS providers has begun a pilot program to submit pre-hospital data to the EMS Bureau database. It is expected that 50% of all EMS providers will be using the system by July 2008. DOH has set a target of June 30, 2010 for getting all Florida EMS providers to submit their EMS run information electronically. Agencies not reporting to EMSTARS, report prehospital aggregate data to the Bureau of EMS.
