3/29/2016. Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO): Solicitation of Project Proposals for the Low or No Emission Program (Low-No) Program. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the availability of $55 million of Fiscal Year 2016 funds for the purchase or lease of low or no emission vehicles as well as related equipment or facilities. Synopses and full announcement are posted on Grants.gov site as opportunity FTA-2016-003-TPM. Proposals must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov website by midnight Eastern Time on 5/13/2016.

Summary: The main purpose of the Low-No Program is to support the transition of the nation’s transit fleet to the lowest polluting and most energy efficient transit vehicles. The Low-No Program provides funding to State and local governmental authorities for the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses, including acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities.

Eligible Applicants: An Eligible Applicant is a direct recipient of FTA grants under the Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula program, States and Indian Tribes.

Dates: An applicant must submit a proposal electronically by midnight Eastern Time on 5/13/2016. Any agency intending to apply should initiate the process of registering on the GRANTS.GOV site immediately to ensure completion of registration before the submission deadline.
