Blair Anderson

Under Secretary for Policy

Blair Anderson was confirmed by the United States Senate in July 2016 to the position of Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy, the Department of Transportation’s third highest ranking official.

Molly J. Moran

Acting General Counsel

Molly J. Moran is the Acting General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).  Ms. Moran is counsel to Secretary Anthony Foxx and serves as the Department’s Chief Legal Officer, with authority to resolve all legal questions concerning the Department’s policies and programs and its over 55,000 employees and $78 billion budget.

Kristin Amerling

Deputy General Counsel

Kristin Amerling is Deputy General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Transportation.  Her previous experience includes over 20 years of service in House and Senate staff positions, including Chief Investigative Counsel and Director of Oversight for the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, Chief Counsel of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Chief Counsel of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and State of Maine Press Secretary to Senate Majority Leader George J. Mitchell.  Ms.

Stephanie Jones

Senior Counselor to the Secretary and Chief Opportunities Officer

Stephanie J. Jones was named Senior Counselor to the Secretary and Chief Opportunities Officer for the U.S. Department of Transportation in September 2015.

Todd Simpson

Associate CIO for Technology Operations & Infrastructure

Todd is the Associate Chief Information Officer (ACIO) for Information Technology Shared Services. As the ACIO, he provides leadership and technical direction over Service Desk and IT Operations and provides a cost effective, high performing and secure IT infrastructure for Operating Administrations (OA) within DOT. Prior to assuming this role, Todd served as Chief Information Officer at the United States Department of Justice Criminal Division (USDOJ), where he led the organization’s IT and litigation support units.

Kathryn B. Thomson

General Counsel

Katie Thomson became the Department's General Counsel on April 9, 2014.  Katie previously served as Acting General Counsel and also as the Chief Counsel of the Federal Aviation Administration. From April 2009 to her appointment at FAA, Katie served as Counselor to Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, where she was the Secretary's principal advisor on energy, climate, and environmental matters. Katie led the Transportation Department team that developed historic joint fuel/greenhouse gas emission standards for passenger cars and trucks and heavy duty vehicles.
