Northern Plains SBTRC: Iowa, Minnesota, Montana and North Dakota

About Us

The Native American Development Corporation (NADC) serves as the Northern Plains Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC), a regional office of the U.S. Department of Transportation, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU). The Northern Plains SBTRC executes the U.S. DOT’s small business assistance programs throughout the states of Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa. The goal of the Northern Plains SBTRC is to increase the ability of small businesses (Native and Non-Native) to compete for and enter into transportation-related contracts at the local, state and federal levels throughout the region. Headquartered in Billings, Montana, the Northern Plains SBTRC assists small and disadvantaged businesses in the region by providing procurement, technical, financial and bonding assistance.

 

SBTRC Services and Programs

SBTRCs provide an array of technical assistance and support services in an effort to build the capacity of Small and Disadvantaged Businesses, making the businesses more competitive when bidding on federally-funded contracts. In addition to executing the USDOT’s Bonding Education Program, Short Term Lending Program, and Women in Transportation Initiative, SBTRCs provide free business coaching, technical workshops and information on procurement opportunities to Small Businesses and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs).

  • Market Research and Procurement Assistance
  • Liaison between Prime Contractors and Sub-Contractors
  • Loan and Bond Assistance (STLP and BEP)
  • Women and Girls In Transportation Initiative (WITI)
  • Outreach to Small Businesses (Small Disadvantaged Businesses, Women Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Business, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, HubZone – Historically Underutilized Business Zone Businesses, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises)
