David Beckhouse

FTA Region 8 Acting Administrator 

David Beckhouse is the Deputy Regional Administrator, and currently the Acting Regional Administrator, for FTA Region 8. The Region 8 Office, located in the Byron Rogers Federal Building in Denver, Colorado, assists more than 70 grantees and administers more than 250 grants throughout the region, providing oversight for approximately $1.5 billion in federal funding of public transportation projects. 

Mr. Beckhouse has been with FTA since 1995. Prior to working as deputy regional administrator, he was the team leader for planning and program development and a community planner in Region 8. As team leader, he was responsible for leading all project development activities for FTA grantees in Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and Utah, including FTA oversight of system  planning activities, such as the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, Long Range Plan, Air Quality Conformity, and Unified Planning Work Program development and approval, and Environmental Approvals under NEPA for all FTA-funded projects in Colorado. Major projects on which he has worked include the rehabilitation of Denver Union Station, the EAGLE P3 commuter rail projects in and around Denver, and several other major investments in Utah and Colorado.

He has a Bachelor’s Degree in political science from Radford University and a Master’s of Public Administration from Virginia Tech.
