Office of Corporate Research, Technology, and Innovation Management

The Office of Corporate Research, Technology, and Innovation Management supports the entire agency and the employees at TFHRC. The office develops and executes policy, budget, program management, and administrative mechanisms to enable a nationwide Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) research, development, and technology (RD&T) program to be carried out in cooperation with our partners.

The office houses the agency’s Exploratory Advanced Research Program, which addresses the need to conduct research on longer term and higher risk breakthrough research with the potential for transformational improvements to plan, build, renew, and operate safe, congestion free, and environmentally sound transportation systems.

In addition the office develops and executes communications and outreach that support FHWA–wide RD&T programs and the technology and innovation delivery needs of the agency. The office supports TFHRC, other FHWA offices, and the Resource Center in the development of program plans and projects; and evaluation of customer needs, acceptance, and benefits of new and advanced products.

There are three teams who support partnership programs; communications and outreach; and Exploratory Advanced Research program.
