Are All Seats Safe?
All car seats rated by NHTSA meet Federal Safety Standards & strict crash performance standards. While all rated seats are safe, they do differ in their ease of use in four basic catagories:

Evaluation of Labels 4 stars
The tether is not labeled in the illustrations depicting acceptable modes of installation.  Labels do not explain the use of LATCH.
Evaluation of Instructions 5 stars
The manual cannot be accessed while the restraint is installed in this mode. The instruction manual storage may be difficult to find.  The warning that the safest place for children is the rear seat is contained in a bulleted list and is not separated from other warnings.
Securing the Child 3 stars
The harness clip is not labeled with placement instructions.  The LATCH belt must be rerouted to convert the restraint to this mode of use from rear-facing mode. When disassembled for cleaning, mandatory parts of the restraint may become detached and could be misplaced.
Installation Features 5 stars
LATCH attachments have buttons to depress for removal.  Lockoffs are physically simple to use, but the user may need to read the owner's manual for more detailed usage information.
