Resource management is the process in which an agency strategically uses information to make informed decisions about how to best manage its capital assets. This topic provides resources that discuss making decisions based on the manufacturers’ recommended preventive maintenance schedule and agency modifications. Modifications are based on the condition and age of the asset, the particular challenges of the duty cycle, and the unique environmental conditions faced by each agency and asset and the respective tradeoffs.
