On December 4, 2015, President Obama signed PL 114-94, the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act). This significant legislation sets funding authorization levels for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) through Fiscal Year 2020 and mandates several rulemakings, reports to Congress, studies, and working groups.  This website provides an overview of key FAST Act initiatives as a resource for the Agency’s stakeholders to follow FMCSA’s FAST Act implementation progress.

• Grants: Several Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) grants will be consolidated starting in FY 2017 which will allow the Agency to more efficiently maximize grant funding. 
• Compliance, Safety, Accountability: The FAST Act requires a comprehensive study of the Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) program’s Safety Measurement System.
