Andrew Curtis Right

Prior to joining the U.S. Department of Transportation, Mr. Right was the founder and Managing Partner of Cherry Lane Capital.  Cherry Lane Capital is a holding company, opportunistic in terms of sectors, funded with long-term, permanent capital.  The company is focused on making control/significant governance investments in operating businesses as a partner with founding families and owner-entrepreneurs. 

Prior to founding Cherry Lane, Mr. Right was a Vice President in the Infrastructure Investment Group, within the Merchant Banking Division at Goldman Sachs in New York.  At Goldman, he was part of the founding team that formed the Infrastructure Investment Group and raised $6.5bn for Goldman Sachs Infrastructure Partners I (GSIP I), which closed in December in 2006.  

As part of the IIG team, Mr. Right led teams that evaluated deals in a variety of sectors including midstream and transportation opportunities, ultimately focusing on the seaport and US airports sectors.  In his investment space, Mr. Right was responsible for sourcing opportunities and leading deal teams with responsibility for detailed legal, accounting, financial and market due diligence, as well as partner selection, JV agreement negotiation and final purchase and sale negotiation.  He also worked in conjunction with the GSIP investment committee to price bids and make final investment recommendations. 

In 2007, Mr. Right led IIG’s investment in Carrix, Inc. (the parent company of SSA Marine), the largest private container terminal operator in the Americas.  As part of the ongoing asset management work, he worked extensively with company management on global acquisition alternatives (including acquisitions in the rail, bulk and container space) as well as management and refinancing initiatives.  He was a board member of Carrix until his departure from Goldman in 2012.

Andrew received a B.S.E. in Civil Engineering and Operations Research, with certificates (minors) in Engineering and Management Systems and Public and International Affairs, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University in 1997.  He received an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School in 2003 where he was elected a Baker Scholar, the designation for the top 5% of the graduating class.

He is currently very active at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. He previously co-chaired the Junior Council leadership from 2007-2012, co-chaired the Annual Museum Dance from 2010 - 2013 and has served on the Museum Advisory Council since 2011.  He grew up in Denver, Colorado and currently resides in New York City with his children Owen, Phoebe, Sadie and Graham.


Roger Bohnert

Headshot of Roger Bohnert, Deputy Executive Director of BATICRoger Bohnert brings a diverse transportation operations, project delivery and policy background to the Department of Transportation’s Build America Transportation Investment Center (BATIC).  He entered the Senior Executive Service in the Department of Transportation in 2003.

As the Deputy Executive Director of the BATIC, Roger supports the Executive Director in leadership and oversight of the BATIC organization and its activities and helps develop and implement strategies to guide the Center’s operations, policies, business and implementation plans.

The BATIC serves as the single point of contact for states, municipalities and project sponsors.  The BATIC helps sponsors utilize federal transportation expertise, access federal transportation credit programs and explore ways to secure private capital in public private partnerships.  

Prior to his appointment to the BATIC, Roger served as the Associate Administrator of the Maritime Administration’s Office of Intermodal System Development, where he helped develop policies and programs aimed removing barriers to the efficient movement of freight.  He was the agency lead for the Transportation Investments Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant program, which has allocated over $500 million to port and marine transportation projects since 2009. He was the architect of the new StrongPorts program, which helps the Nation’s ports meet their modernization and expansion needs.  Roger also oversaw development of the America’s Marine Highway Program, which seeks to expand the use of our nation’s coastal and inland waters to transport freight and passengers more efficiently.  

Prior to joining the Maritime Administration, Roger was the Acting Director of the Office of Intelligence, Security, and Emergency Response and Military Assistant to the Secretary of Transportation.  While in the Coast Guard, he spent over thirteen years aboard Cutters, and sailed as Commanding Officer of two vessels. He was licensed as Master, vessels of unlimited tonnage, on all oceans.


Jodie M. Misiak

Headshot of Jodie Misiak the Director of BATICAs BATIC’s Director of Project Development, Jodie Misiak oversees and coordinates the prioritization, tracking, and implementation of projects, from preliminary planning through financial close.  Previously, as Director of Maryland DOT’s Office of Innovative Project Delivery, Ms. Misiak guided the Department’s P3 and other innovative finance initiatives, including all stages of project development, solicitation, and delivery. She served as MDOT’s point person for statewide efforts to strengthen and clarify P3 policies and processes, including the P3 Commission that was convened in 2011 and the P3 law that was enacted in 2013. Prior to joining MDOT, she has held positions in the Economics and Business Solutions Group at Halcrow and in the Municipal Securities Group at UBS, specializing in transportation finance. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University and dual master’s degrees in City Planning and Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Ann Shikany

Ann Shikany, Associate Director of Program Management for BATICAs Associate Director for Program Management, Ms. Shikany coordinates external affairs, communications, and internal processes including project intake. She also manages all activities with the BATIC Institute: An AASHTO Center for Excellence. Prior to working at U.S. DOT Ms. Shikany worked with the Department of Energy (DOE) in the Loan Programs Office where she provided in depth credit, risk and market analysis of clean energy generation and manufacturing projects. Ms. Shikany also has substantial experience in international relations working within the APEC forum and with the Clean Energy Ministerial, and is a dedicated advocate for women’s economic empowerment. Ms. Shikany received an MA from John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), with dual concentrations in international energy and finance, and a BA in Political Science from Kenyon College.
