Air Fare Information Guide

The Consumer Air Fare Report provides information about average prices being paid by consumers in the top 1,000 domestic city pair markets in the continental United States. These markets account for approximately 70% of all domestic air travel.

For additional information, please contact the Office of Aviation Analysis at (202) 366-5903.

To find average fares for city pairs not listed in the Consumer Airfare Report or to find average fares by airport pairs, please see the following FAQ.

You can obtain data on itinerary fares by origin city through the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ Air Fares/Air Travel Price Index (ATPI) page. The original source of this data is the Origin & Destination Survey's DB1B Ticket database.  For more information, including airfares between city/airport pairs, click here.
