| Answer: | FTA’s Office of Safety and Security received a transit-related email that originated from a US Army Security Specialist at Ft. Belvoir. The email was then forwarded by FTA to a limited list of safety and security contacts in the public transportation field to raise their situational awareness. The original memo did not originate from the Federal Transit Administration, nor does it reflect official FTA policy or guidance. |

With the high cost of publishing and mailing government reports, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) publishes and distributes technical reports electronically. Today, the majority of research and technical reports are “born digital” and distributed electronically.
