Freight Videos

Planning for Progress Video, FHWA. The video recording "Planning for Progress" provides an effective and brief (12 minutes) overview of intermodal freight transportation and addresses why it is important for decision-makers, public transportation planners and other transportation professionals to integrate freight in their local, State, and multi-jurisdictional planning and investment decisions. The video explains, non-technically, supply chain logistics, the role and attributes of the different modes and addresses questions such as - How are goods delivered from a manufacturer's facility to a retailer's shelf? What are the public and private challenges and solutions of providing "next day" service in a just-in-time business model?
