Effective April 2, 2015 PHMSA will no longer process additional item name EX Approval applications. A change to the product name has no bearing on the safety of the firework, the original classification of the firework, or regulatory compliance. It is common practice, and encouraged by PHMSA, to print the EX or FC number on the firework device itself.
