Purpose: To discuss and revise the design type tests for lithium cells and batteries and the test method N.5 for water reactive substances. The United Nations Manual of Tests and Criteria contains criteria, test methods and procedures that provide the basis of various hazard class definitions found in the U.S. Hazardous Material Regulations.
