Summary

As required by Congress, we publicly issued our third quarterly assessment of the savings Amtrak has achieved from operational reforms. This report also fulfills the certification requirement included in the fiscal year 2006 Appropriations Act, and includes our evaluation of the Department of Transportation's efforts to set and collect access fees from commuter railroads for use of Amtrak-owned infrastructure on the Northeast Corridor.
