Co-Owner of Nationwide Fence Agrees to Pay the Government over $350,000 for DBE Fraud

Summary

On May 22, 2015, Michael DeMil, co-owner of RMD Holdings Ltd. d/b/a Nationwide Fence (Nationwide), Chesterfield, Michigan, entered into a civil settlement agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Louisville, Kentucky, and agreed to pay over $350,000 to the United States government for alleged disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) fraud resulting from an OIG investigation.

It was alleged that from January 2008 through July 2010, DeMil caused Nationwide to misrepresent how it utilized the DBE, Sallie's Wholesale Construction, Inc., on two road projects funded by the Federal Highway Administration; one in Indiana and one in Kentucky, in violation of DBE rules and regulations.
