Oklahoma Man Indicted for Fraud Involving Aircraft Parts

Summary

On February 9, 2016, Scott M. Reid of Wagoner County, OK, was indicted in U.S. District Court, Muskogee, OK, and charged with fraud and false statements involving aircraft parts.

According to the indictment, Reid, a pilot and aviation mechanic, made false entries in an aircraft logbook between approximately September and November 2012, regarding the left engine of a twin-engine, Beechcraft Baron aircraft. The false entries indicated that the left engine received a major overhaul, when in fact Reid knew that no such major overhaul of the engine occurred.

DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the FBI, with assistance from the FAA.
