Summary

On January 29, 2016, Larry D. Morgan was sentenced in U.S. District Court, Oklahoma City, OK, for making false statements to FAA. Morgan pleaded guilty to the same charge the previous day. He was sentenced to 60 months probation and 180 days of home confinement. In addition, Morgan was ordered to forfeit $42,000 to the U.S. and pay $43,120 in restitution. 

Morgan, a pilot who owned and operated several aircraft in Cushing, OK, fraudulently induced a fellow pilot from Ovid, NY, into trading the man’s Cessna 421A aircraft for Morgan’s Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft knowing that the Beechcraft Bonanza was worth nowhere near the $123,500 he had represented in email communications. The indictment further alleges that Morgan made multiple false and fraudulent entries in the aircraft’s logbooks, and failed to disclose an existing lien on the aircraft when he executed the bill of sale.
