Summary

On March 29, 2012, the Inspector General testified on DOT's top management challenges before the House Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies.  The Inspector General focused on short- and long-term actions that DOT should take to ensure transportation safety and maximize investments in transportation by highlighting three cross-cutting areas: (1) enhancing aviation, surface, and pipeline safety; (2) ensuring effective stewardship of the Department's resources; and (3) effectively implementing transportation infrastructure program.
