Summary

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is initiating an audit of DOT’s Consolidated Financial Statements for Fiscal Years 2010 and 2009.  It will be conducted according to government auditing standards and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) audit requirements.  The audit is being performed by an external audit firm, Clifton Gunderson, LLP, subject to OIG oversight; this firm is also conducting an audit of the Federal Aviation Administration’s financial statements.  The audit report on the Consolidated Financial Statements will be delivered to OMB by November 15, 2010.
