  1. What is the difference between a "Rejection Letter" and a "Denial Letter?"

    The Rejection Letter is generated when the applicant fails to complete or meet the application requirements during the evaluation process. Please refer to 49 CFR Section 107.705

    The Denial Letter is generated when the applicant fails to meet the standards of the DOT regulations during the evaluation process. The applicant is then duly noted as unfit to mark, manufacture, and/or requalify cylinders in accordance with the 49 CFR.

    All questions relating to the status of the ApplicantÂ’s application request and general Hazardous Materials are required to contact the Hazardous Materials Information Center.

  3. How to apply for an Approval within the Pressure Vessels Branch?

    All applicants must follow the guidelines in the 49 CFR Section 107.705.  If you are not a resident of the United States, you are require to designate a permanent resident of the United States to act as your agent and receive documents on your behalf.  Please refer to the 49 CFR Section 105.40 for additional information.
