On August 24, 2016, Robert Laudemann of West Jordan, Utah, pleaded guilty in Wasatch County District Court, Heber City, Utah, to attempted bribery of a public servant. He was sentenced to 1 year of imprisonment, which was suspended, and 1 year of probation, and was ordered to pay a fine of $1,000. Laudemann was previously charged with bribery via information in June 2016.

 

In February 2015, the Utah Driver License Division notified the Utah Department of Public Safety and DOT-OIG that Laudemann had offered a bribe to a third-party tester for an over-the-road commercial driver’s license (CDL) test. 

 

On February 24, 2015, Laudemann contacted a third-party CDL tester regarding testing services. Laudemann offered to pay $1,000 to the tester, who believed it to be a bribe offered in exchange for a passing score on the CDL road test.
