Ohio Trucking Company Owners Indicted for Fraud

Summary

On October 21, 2015, Raj Singh Bhangu and his mother, Sandy Gean Singh, were indicted by the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, Columbus, Ohio. Bhangu was indicted for forgery and telecommunications fraud. Singh was indicted for telecommunications fraud.

They owned and operated Knightrider Transportation, LLC., a freight transportation company, located in Columbus, Ohio. On December 22, 2013, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) placed Knightrider Transportation, LLC. out of service for failure to comply with safety fitness requirements. This prohibited them from operating in interstate and intrastate commerce. However, in January 2015, Bhangu allegedly created a document on  false U.S. Department of Transportation, FMCSA letterhead  misrepresenting Knightrider's authority to operate. This document was submitted by Singh, at Banghu's request, to various entities.
