Nebraska Truck Driver Pleads Guilty to Making Threats to FMCSA Safety Inspector

On July 21, 2015, Ronald Mockelman, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court, Lincoln, Nebraska, to intimidating a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) employee.

Mockelman was previously charged with making a threat to a federal employee. The information alleged that on January 10, 2015, Mockelman, a commercial truck driver, made several threatening telephone calls to FMCSA's Nebraska Division offices. The telephone calls threatened bodily injury in retaliation for FMCSA issuing a fine to Mockelman for failing to adhere to motor carrier safety regulations. Mockelman also allegedly made several threatening telephone calls to the FMCSA Midwestern Service Center in Illinois on the same day.
