Summary

On November 3, 2014, Nader Ali Sabouri Haghighi (aka Nader Schruder) pleaded guilty to identity theft in U. S. District Court, Houston, Texas. 

In April 2013, Sabouri Haghighi was indicted in connection with accessing the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Airman Services Records System without authorization. The Airman Services Records System is an on-line database used by the FAA to monitor and regulate persons authorized to fly aircraft. Sabouri Haghighi was also charged related to his use of the victim pilot's U.S. passport to open a mail forwarding account, use of the victim's personally identifiable information (PII) to open a bank account, as well as using an illegally obtained Airline Transport (ATP) certificate in the name of the victim.

On September 16, 2014, Sabouri Haghighi was taken into custody and arrested in Panama. Sabouri Haghighi waived extradition from Panama.

This case is being jointly prosecuted by the United States Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Texas as well as the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS) of the Department of Justice.
