Airport Worker Sentenced to Prison for Security Badge Fraud

Summary

Maria L. Milanes, a housekeeping supervisor at Miami International Airport was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Miami to 8 months' confinement and 2 years' supervised probation for using a false identification to obtain a security badge needed for employment at the airport. Milanes lied about her previous conviction on cocaine possession charges and her subsequent deportation and illegal reentry into the United States. OIG investigated this case with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service.
