Trucker Involved In Fatal Crash Pleads Guilty To Falsifying Logbook

Truck driver Kenneth Butler pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia, PA to charges of violating Federal hours of service regulations that resulted in the 1999 death of an automobile driver in Lower Makefield Township, PA. Butler falsified his driver’s logbook to indicate that he was off-duty on October 14, 1999 when in fact he was driving his truck and was involved in a crash with an automobile. A 38-year-old woman was killed in the crash. Sentencing was set for December 12, 2001.
