Ozone Industries, Inc., of East Lyme, CT, was ordered to pay a $200,000 fine and its former plant manager Richard Critelli was fined $100,000 by a U.S. District Court judge, in New Haven, CT, after pleading guilty to a charge of refusing to produce required paperwork confirming that mandatory equipment tests had been done. OIG was investigating Ozone Industries for returning aircraft parts to service without testing them as required and for overhauling and repairing aircraft parts without having the proper FAA ratings. FAA provided technical assistance in this case.
