Argenbright’s Probation Extended in Settlement

Summary

In the ongoing Argenbright Security Inc., case, a U.S. District Court judge in Philadelphia, PA, increased the firm’s probation from three to five years, ordered nationwide fingerprint checks of all current and new Argenbright employees, and doubled the number of required compliance reports from two to four per year. The ruling finalizes Argenbright’s agreement to settle Justice Department allegations that the company violated a court order by, among other things, continuing to hire airport screeners with criminal records. Federal prosecutors filed a motion to revoke Argenbright's probation on October 11 after an OIG review of FAA audits found ongoing problems with Argenbright's hiring practices at 14 airports, including Philadelphia International Airport. On October 22, Argenbright ceased all operations at the airport.
