Former Logan Airport Employee Convicted in SIDA Fraud Case

Summary

Wilson Guzman Polo, Lynn, MA, an illegal foreign national from Columbia, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Boston, MA, to charges of making false statements and using a false Social Security number to obtain employment at Boston’s Logan International Airport. In September 1994, Polo obtained employment with HMS Host Marriott Corporation, which provides services within the airport’s Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA). Polo is one of 20 current or former airport employees arrested this year as part of “Operation Safe Travel,” an investigation by the OIG, INS, and the Social Security Administration OIG, with the assistance of Massachusetts Port Authority. Sentencing is scheduled for August 12.
