Couple Sentenced in Aircraft Parts Conspiracy and Kickbacks Case

Summary

Marshall and Helen Bryant of Merrimack, NH, were sentenced in U.S. District Court in Concord, NH, after, to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and accepting kickbacks in connection with a larger case involving RTS Services, an aircraft parts broker in Texas. The Bryants, doing business as Silver Jade Business Services, were sentenced to 6 months of home confinement for receiving kickbacks from RTS for inflating repair contracts for aircraft parts, some with the FAA and U.S. Coast Guard. The Bryants are required to reappear in Federal court in April 2003 for an amended sentence, which will demand restitution for their victims, including FAA and the Coast Guard. The couple pleaded guilty in July 2000 in Dallas, TX. The case was investigated jointly by OIG, the FBI, and the Defense Criminal Investigative Service.
