Airport Worker Pleads Guilty to Airport Security Badge Fraud

Summary

Mark A. Russo of Patchogue, NY, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Central Islip, NY, to failure to disclose a felony conviction for robbery on his application for a security badge at the Long Island MacArthur Airport in New York. As an employee of the airport’s Long Island Jet Center, Russo performed and certified the required background checks of other employees. This case was investigated by OIG, with TSA’s assistance.
