Pilot Jailed for Using Faked Pilot’s License

Summary

Marvin C. Jacobs, an illegal foreign national from Aruba, was sentenced in U. S. District Court in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, to 1 year in jail for using a fraudulent pilot’s license to win employment as a pilot with Reliance Aviation, an FAA air-taxi service at the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Jacobs, a licensed private pilot, was not licensed to pilot commercial planes. Jacobs flew numerous passengers from February 2000 through August 2001 while serving as first officer. OIG investigated the case with assistance from the Immigration and Naturalization Service and FAA.
