Summary

Shay Cohen and Izezo Uzi Elena, employees of Majesty Moving & Storage, Miami, FL, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Miami to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, extortion, and falsifying bills of lading. The defendants were involved in a scheme to defraud moving customers by giving them ?low ball? estimates, inflating the charges once the household goods were loaded, and withholding the possessions from delivery until the customer paid the inflated charges. The case involved an undercover operation that resulted in charges against 16 companies and 74 individuals in Miami who victimized 424 customers. This investigation was conducted jointly by OIG and the FBI with assistance from FMCSA.
