Pilot Fined for Flying With No License

Summary

Kenney R. Olson of Salt Lake City, UT, was fined $500 by a U.S. District Court judge in Cheyenne, WY, for operating an aircraft without a pilot's license. FAA notified OIG and the FBI that an unregistered aircraft had landed unannounced at the Jackson Hole, WY airport. OIG subsequently found that Olson, the pilot of the aircraft, had no valid pilot's license. FAA had revoked Olson's airman certificate in 1998 after a Federal conviction for drug trafficking. In addition, the aircraft flown by Olson was last registered 21 years ago and did not belong to him.
