Century Express Van Lines of Fort Lauderdale, FL, two owners, and an employee were sentenced by a U.S. District Court judge in Miami to a total of almost 8 years in prison and $55,000 in fines for participation in a household moving scheme that defrauded their customers. Century Express Van Lines cheated customers out of about $1 million over a three-year period. The company no longer operates as an interstate household goods shipper. This investigation was conducted jointly by OIG and the FBI, with assistance from FMCSA.
