Airport Lease Broker Receives 78 Months Prison Term for Fraud

Summary

Alfred Speckman was sentenced by a U.S. District Court judge in Wilmington, DE to 78 months incarceration after being convicted of three counts of mail fraud for selling leased aircraft without the owners’ consent and keeping the proceeds. Speckman pleaded guilty in November to submitting false bills of sale and aircraft registration documents to FAA. Speckman was also ordered to pay $207,314 in restitution. The FAA has taken steps to insure that FAA Aircraft Registry records reflect the aircrafts' proper owners.
