Summary

Terrance E. Haley, a former third-party CDL examiner for the state of Georgia, was sentenced by a U.S. District Court judge in Macon, GA to five years’ probation and ordered to pay $15,960 in restitution to compensate the state of Georgia for the cost of retesting student drivers. Haley had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to make false statements in connection with providing certifications on CDL examinations of over 600 student drivers while he was employed by TTT Truck Driver’s Training School (TTT) as a licensed examiner. Co-defendant Thomas Duke, the owner of TTT case is scheduled for sentencing in September, 2004. The investigation was conducted jointly by the OIG and FMCSA with assistance from the FBI.
