Summary

Kenneth J. Wagner, of Plymouth, MA, pled guilty on the day that trial was scheduled to begin on a felony charge of making false statements on a 2001 FAA Airmen’s Medical Certificate Application. In that application he failed to disclose that he was being treated for a major depressive condition and that he had been taking psychotropic medications since August, 2000. If the FAA had known of the medications which Wagner had been taking while under medical treatment, he would have been found medically disqualified to control air traffic. Wagner was reassigned to non-controller duties in May 2003 and subsequently retired from the FAA. Wagner was sentenced immediately and ordered to pay a $500 fine. The investigation was conducted with assistance from the FAA.
