Former Paint Company Employee Pleads Guilty in Hazardous Materials Case

Summary

Robert Mominee, former Technical Director of the Ponderosa Paint Company, Boise, ID, plead guilty in U. S. District Court, Boise, ID, to transporting hazardous waste to a non-permitted facility. A prior six-count indictment of conspiracy had been issued against Mominee and co-defendants Dennis Ellis, Ponderosa’s owner, and Paul Woods in connection with the illegal disposal of some 20,000 gallons of hazardous oil-based paint waste. Mominee is scheduled to be sentenced on December 3, 2004. Ellis was sentenced on September 16, 2004 and Woods is expected to plead guilty. The case was jointly investigated with EPA-CID, with assistance from RSPA.
