Summary

Paul D. Beall, an FAA air traffic controller at Philadelphia International Airport, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Philadelphia for making false statements on his annual FAA Application for Airman Medical Certificate on five occasions from 2000 to 2004. Beall allegedly failed to disclose that he suffered from hypertension, that he had been prescribed regulated medications, and that he had pled guilty to Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charges in January 2004. If FAA had known this information, Beall would have been found medically unqualified to control air traffic. Since April 2004, he has been reassigned to non-aircraft controller duties.
