FAA Flight Instructor Pleads Guilty to Possession of False FAA Licenses

Summary

Jose Francisco Guasch, a/k/a Jesus Manuel Rios, pled guilty in U.S. District Court in Miami, FL, to a charge of possessing authentication devices and false identification documents. In June 2003, DOT-OIG and U.S. Customs agents executed a search warrant at Guasch’s residence and found fraudulent identification documents, including 6 false FAA credentials, a pilot crew identification card, and international driving permits. Sentencing for Guasch is set for December 2004. This investigation was conducted jointly with FBI, DHS, and DCIS, with assistance of FAA.
