Summary

On September 13, Matthew Mummy, a driver for RBL Enterprises, Inc. (RBL), Port Trevorton, PA, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Williamsport, PA to one year probation for misprision of a felony. Mummy admitted to concealing his knowledge of RBL officers and other employees submitting false logbooks to DOT. Our investigation found that Mummy falsified his driver’s logbook approximately 14 times between February 15 and March 7, 2004 to conceal excessive hours driven - a violation of criminal statutes related to FMCSA regulations and a threat to public safety. Mummy pled guilty in June 2005.

On September 14, three other RBL drivers, Ryan Flick, Albert Crouch, and Dennis Gemberling, pled guilty in U.S. District Court in Williamsport, PA to one count each of the same charge of misprision of a felony, admitting to logbook falsifications on 25, 42, and 150 occasions respectively. FMCSA is assisting in this ongoing investigation. To date, eight drivers have been charged and pled guilty, with investigation continuing of alleged misconduct of RBL officials.
