Summary

On October 25, FHWA reported that it suspended Patton Construction, Inc. (PCI) and its owner and President, Walter Allen Patton, for conspiring to violate Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements on a road resurfacing project in eastern Oklahoma. PCI, located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, was a subcontractor on a $12 million federally funded road resurfacing project of Highway 64 near Muskogee, Oklahoma. The prime contractor claimed that PCI would provide direct services on the project as a DBE for concrete work on drainage ditch boxes and culverts when, in fact, these services were provided by a non-DBE company.
