FAA Debars Former Advertising Firm Executive Involved in Airport Concessions Contract Fraud

Summary

On January 17, 2007, FAA debarred Eric Selby, former regional vice president of Skysites, Inc., for 15 months for his role in a corruption scheme related to FAA-regulated airport concessions contracts at Philadelphia International Airport. In 1998, the City of Philadelphia entered into concession contracts worth approximately $15 million with Skysites, Inc. for advertising at the airport. Selby pleaded guilty in March 2006 to conspiracy and wire fraud charges. He admitted that he participated in a scheme to have Skysites illegally fund $30,000 in contributions to political action committees that supported the Mayor of Philadelphia in order to extend Skysites contract. Selby was sentenced to pay $10,833 in restitution and $3,200 in criminal fines and serve three years probation.
