Louisiana Man Indicted for Making False Statements

Summary

On May 22, 2013, Ralph Cody was indicted in U.S. District Court, Shreveport, Louisiana, for falsification of aircraft maintenance logs. Cody, an Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) mechanic, who did not have Inspection Authorization (IA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), signed aircraft logbooks certifying that annual inspections were completed when he knew that he held no current IA.  In some cases, Cody used a false certificate number when he signed the logbooks.  Cody previously held an IA certification, however, the IA certification expired on March 31, 2001.
